PRELUDE

RETURN of the House Stark to the North.

"A monster has taken our home and our brother. We have to go back to Winterfell and save them both!"

Sansa Stark

"There's no need for a battle. Thousands of men don't need to die. Only one of us. Let's end this the old way: you against me."

―Jon Snow to Ramsay Bolton

Before the battle

Ramsay offered terms for Jon's surrender:

Sansa should be given to him

Jon must bends the knee and acknowledges Ramsay as the Lord of Winterfell.

Jon rejected this

The Battle

  • The Stark forces deployed near a tree line. They want to prevent themselves from being attacked from behind.

  • The Bolton army is using burning flayed corpses in an effort to demoralize enemy troops.

  • Ramsay insists from Rickon to run to Jon across the battlefield. The boy runs, and on a half way, Ramsay's arrow shot is killing him almost instantly.

  • Jon charges full tilt at the Bolton forces. It is a trap for him. He is saved by the arrival of his cavalry

  • The battle becomes a bloody storm of swords.

  • Ramsay orders archers to fire on both the Stark and his own forces

  • Ramsay sends forward his remaining forces.

  • The Boltons manage to surround the Stark's army and close them in with a shield phalanx.

  • Suddenly, a war horn sounds off in the distance.

  • Around the battlefield appears a large mounted group of the knights of the Vale, led by Lord Baelish, Lady Sansa.

  • With the Ramsay’s phalanx facing inward towards the Stark's forces, the Vale knights are able to attack the enemy on the undefended side

  • Ramsay's phalanx is quickly wiping away

  • The Stark's forces are free again

  • Ramsay decides to retreat to Winterfell

  • Stark's forces kill all Bolton men remaining in the castle.

  •

"You suggested one-on-one combat, didn't you? I've reconsidered. I think that sounds like a wonderful idea."

―Ramsay Bolton to Jon Snow [src]

  • Jon beats Ramsay savagely

  • Ramsay is locked as a prisoner in the kennels

  • The Direwolf banner is raised above Winterfell for the first time in three years.

Ramsay Bolton: "You can't kill me. I'm part of you now."

Sansa Stark: "Your words will disappear. Your house will disappear. Your name will disappear. All memory of you will disappear."

  • Ramsay Bolton is devoured alive by his own dogs

Epilogue

The newly restored Great House is now in the hands of an illegitimate son and an eldest daughter.

In the books
